Bainbridge Island Wines Win Big at Seattle Wine Awards

Washington State is already well-known for producing fantastic wines. But far from the vineyards of Eastern Washington, Bainbridge Island’s very own winemakers are winning plaudits from local and international wine groups.

Eagle Harbor Wine Co. LogoCase in point are the Island’s own Eagle Harbor Wine Co. and Amelia Wynn Winery. Both wineries took top awards at the 2015 Seattle Wine Awards. On April 19-20, nearly 1,250 wines were reviewed by two dozen professionals using a 20-point scale. The wines were evaluated based on Aroma, Bouquet, Flavor, Palate, Typicity, Balance, Complexity, Finish, and Overall Impression.

Amelia Wynn Winery's Paul Bianchi has been making wine since 1998.

Amelia Wynn Winery’s Paul Bianchi has been making wine since 1998.

Eagle Harbor Wine Co. received two Double Gold awards – for its ‘2012 Condor’ in the Red Bordeaux styles category and the ‘2012 Founder’s Merlot’ in the Merlot group. Amelia Wynn Winery took three awards – Double Gold for its 2012 Aragon in the Red Rhone category and Gold for its 2012 Cuvée in the Red Bordeaux category and their 2012 Chardonnay.
