Find Your Solace at Bloedel Reserve This Summer

There was a period of time this spring and early summer when the Bloedel Reserve was closed to the public, but we can happily say it’s back open again and serving as the same restorative sanctuary as always. This month, Bloedel Reserve was ranked as one of the year’s 10 best Botanical Gardens in the country by USA Today.

We couldn’t agree more, of course.  Bloedel Reserve is a special place, as just about anyone who has been there can attest.  This is actually the second time Bloedel has made the top 10 list, which is determined by voting on nominees presented by a panel that includes travel and garden experts and members of the USA Today editorial staff.

Though you can explore this incredible space on a day trip from Seattle to Bainbridge Island, we recommend staying a night or two and exploring the other wonderful things this island has to offer. The Bainbridge Island Lodging Association has a variety of members, including traditional hotels, boutique inns, B&Bs, and vacation rentals to choose from, and makes it easy to find accommodations that suit your needs.  Browse through our members, and book your stay today! Mora Ice Cream is the Sweet Ending You Need

It’s not unheard of for people to make the trek across the Puget Sound for a tasty bite of Mora Ice Cream.  Like many of the other famous ice cream shops in the Northwest, like Salt & Straw and Molly Moons, Mora Ice Cream has a devoted following (and for good reason).  Though there’s a lot to love about a summer visit to this beautiful island, ending your trip on a sweet note from this charming and hip ice cream shop is about as good as it gets.

Before you get in too big of a hurry to leave Bainbridge Island, consider spending the night in one of our incredible hotels or vacation rentals.  Destination Bainbridge members offer a variety of cozy places to call home for the night. From high-end luxury and quaint waterfront cabins to boutique hotels and rentals that rank high in walkability, there’s plenty to choose from.

There’s no better way to get to know the charms of Bainbridge Island than by staying a night or two.  Besides, an extended stay also gives you more opportunities to eat at our incredible restaurants, and sample a few more flavors of Mora ice cream.  What could be better than that?  Bring your mask, plan for some social distancing, and come relax with us on Bainbridge Island this summer.
