Bainbridge Island Turkey Trot Benefits Families in Need
Runners and walkers of all ages:
Start your Thanksgiving Day right with a fun, active community event that supports local families in need. Over the past four years, the Bainbridge Island Turkey Trot has raised nearly $65,000 for Bainbridge Island’s local food bank in the first four years of the event. Taking place in beautiful Battle Point Park, runners and walkers are welcome in both the five-kilometer and 1-mile races.
The event benefits Helpline House, a community-funded non-profit agency that provides a full range of social services to residents of Bainbridge Island, including a food bank, clothing bank, medical equipment for loan, social work advocacy and consultation and referrals to counseling. The food bank itself serves over 350 households each week. Helpline House is proud to support local families in need and to help them enjoy the holiday season.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age category for both races. Light refreshments will be provided at the finish for race participants. Day-of-race registration for the Bainbridge Island Turkey Trot is available in the Transmitter Building, 11299 Arrow Point Drive NE, starting at 7:30 am day of race. Registration is $15 and $30 for the 1-mile and 5-k races, respectively.
Don’t miss one of Bainbridge Island’s most anticipated holiday traditions – it’s the perfect excuse for one more slice of pie!
