Bainbridge Island’s Eleven Winery Receives Award
The Interfaith Council of Bainbridge Island / North Kitsap has awarded Bainbridge Island’s Eleven Winery with its Tikkun Olam award, which is given annually to a business or organization that supports “Healing the World.”
Eleven Winery was chosen for their “focus on sustainability” and “environmentally green” practices. Matt Albee, Eleven Winery’s owner, said that money isn’t the guiding vision behind the winery’s growth and success.
Eleven Winery is a small, family-run winery dedicated to producing great wine. Production currently includes about 2,000 cases of Malbec, Syrah, Mourvedre, Petit Verdot, Pinot Grigio, Roussanne, Viognier and Ports. Eleven Winery’s downtown Winslow tasting room is open all week (287 Winslow Way East). The winery is open on weekends from noon to 5:00 pm (7671 NE Day Road) and includes a picnic area, petanque court and live music on Saturdays.
The Interfaith Council, formed in 1997, includes over 20 faith groups and offers a variety of annual events—including the Baccalaureate service, a public reading of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and a community Thanksgiving service.
