Holiday Artisan Shopping Guide 2018

Shop Hand Crafted Bainbridge for the Holidays!  Gather a carload and shop all over the island…

Unique gifts thoughtfully selected telegraph the value of personal connections, and the holidays are a common time to reaffirm sentiments of love, compassion and care. Bainbridge Island gets into the spirit of Christmas. Downtown is a bustling festive hub of activity; merchants dress up their displays with sparkle and pizazz, Santa comes to town, and the giant star on top of downtown’s tallest tree shines brightly for the winter solstice. Islanders take pride in shopping locally, and greet one other on the streets as they make the rounds of the local businesses. Continue reading

How To See Bainbridge Island Without a Car

How to Get Around Bainbridge Island WIthout a CarBainbridge Island is only 8.5 miles away from downtown Seattle, and is best reached via the 35-minute Washington State Ferry from Coleman Dock. Getting here can require a little bit of patience and advanced planning, but luckily, it’s one of the few destinations on this side of the Puget Sound that is not only easy to get to, but easy to get around. We recently posted a blog that serves as an excellent guide to the many different options for transportation on Bainbridge Island. But truly, we think one of the easiest and most interesting ways to get around Bainbridge Island is without a car. Much of Bainbridge Island is walkable, and when things get a little too far, there are always bikes available to rent. Once you start exploring, we don’t think you’ll want to stop. Check availability at the many Bainbridge Island Lodging properties, so you can keep the adventure going. Continue reading

“Glamping” on Bainbridge Island!

A new overnight treasure is tucked away on the northeast end of Bainbridge Island in our own little Fay Bainbridge Park. Two darling cabins are nestled in the woods a short little trail hike from the beach. These cabins are pet and family friendly but would lend themselves to a romantic “glamp” by the beach as well. This is a perfect spot to set-up base for an island adventure of hiking, beach combing,   wine tasting, or just exploring this amazing island. Especially lovely are the private front viewing porches with sturdy but comfortable Adirondack chairs. Leave the city lights and noise behind, relax in the woods, hike the beach and watch the wildlife but sleep in a warm cozy cabin. “Glamping” at it’s best! Continue reading
