Celebrate Local Artists at the Bainbridge Island Winter Studio Tour
The 31st annual Bainbridge Island Winter Studio Tour will kick off this weekend, from Friday, December 5th through Sunday, December 7th. This holiday tradition offers you the chance to meet more than 60 local artists at nine studios and inside community halls!
The Bainbridge Island Winter Studio Tour invites you to celebrate the beauty and craftsmanship of handmade, locally made, art. The Tour is a twice-annual art show on Bainbridge Island, Washington – located in the beautiful Puget Sound, just a 30-minute ferry ride from Seattle. Surrounded by water and picturesque views, Bainbridge Island is a lovely town full of quaint shops, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, and an abundance of art and artists. The Bainbridge Island Winter Studio Tour has enjoyed great success since 1984, and organizers hope you’ll experience it for yourself!
Regional artists jury the summer and winter art shows, and sell their work at Island artists’ studios and historic community halls. When you visit the studios, you’ll see some works in progress, raw materials, tools, and perhaps some inspiration mixed in with a little sawdust.
Of course, a highlight of the Bainbridge Island Winter Studio Tour is the opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their work and vision. When you buy these hand-crafted works of art, you truly own an “original.” And by shopping locally, you’re not only supporting the local economy and helping artists to thrive; you’re also doing your part for our delicate environment.
New this year, participants can visit some of the studios by bus! Agate Pass Tours is offering a Holiday Bus that includes a breakfast in downtown Winslow, a trip to Pleasant Beach Village with time for shopping and lunch, then travel in style to several Bainbridge Island Winter Studio Tour sites for a delightful afternoon of shopping and exploration.
Call our friends at the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association at 206-842-2982 to book your seat and ask for the Studio Tour bus package (option #3).
