Events Celebrating Mothers on Bainbridge Island This Mother’s Day
This Sunday, May 10th, is Mother’s Day, and there are a number of fun activities and events taking place on Bainbridge Island to show mothers that we love and appreciate them. Here are just a few:
Celebrate Mother’s Day at the BIMA Bistro with a delicious brunch! Menu items include an organic carrot coconut soup, cardamon sour cream waffles, Cape Cleare smoked salmon potato cakes and an open-faced sandwich with goat cheese, asparagus and Parma prosciutto… and don’t forget the strawberry mint mimosas! Brunch will be served from 10 am until 1 pm in the Bistro (550 Winslow Way East; 206-842-4451)
Hike IslandWood’s trails and warm your heart with tales of wild animal mothers and learn how they nourish, nurture and teach the next generation. Explore interpretive stations in the woods with activities for the whole family. Come on back for a refreshing afternoon tea complete with quiches, smoked salmon, wraps, chocolate tortes and more. Honor and delight the mom or mother-figure in your life with a healthful and educational event that’s sure to please all generations! Open 1:00-5:00 pm (4450 Blakely Avenue NE; 206-855-4300)
Let mom and grandma play on their special day! Families are invited to celebrate at KiDiMu with hands-on fun at the museum and make a one-of-a-kind Mother’s Day gift – a tissue paper decoupage vase! The project is included with admission or membership (first-come, first-served). Open from noon to 4 pm (301 Ravine Lane; 206-855-4650).
Happy Mother’s Day!
