Spacious, light filled, private 2-story house, with new kitchen and bathrooms surrounded by trees, that can host up to 6 people. We are located close to downtown shops and restaurants as well as the Seattle/Bainbridge Island ferry. There is a public beach within walking distance of the house. Relax and recharge with the peace and quiet of the surrounding woods, or explore the Island and Seattle. Our guest house will be your home away from home, for as long as you are here.

The space

We are located on 3 acres surrounded by tall evergreen trees. There is parking for 2 cars and a private entrance to the house with a smart-key lock on the front door. Once inside, you'll find everything you need for a relaxing stay.

We have newly refinished hardwood floors throughout the living area and both bedrooms. All new double-paned windows bring the outdoors inside. Cellular window shades in the living room and bedrooms provide privacy. There is a flat-screen TV in the living room with cable, as well as a DVD player. WiFi is included. We have a decent movie collection or bring your own. We also have an assortment of games and books for your use. There is a Bluetooth speaker for playing your own music as well.

The glass topped dining table can seat 6, and the kitchen has a peninsula with 4 bar stools.

The kitchen has new quartz countertops, gas range with oven and broiler, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, and microwave. Silverware, utensils, dishes, pots & pans, Keurig Coffee Maker, and toaster are all provided.

In addition to central heat, there is a Vermont Castings wood burning stove in the living room, along with firewood and kindling. We refill firewood once a day. If you have small children or infants, we ask that you not use the wood burning stove, as it gets very hot. There is also a wall-heater in the downstairs bedroom.

The downstairs bedroom has queen foam mattress. There is also an attached half-bathroom (sink & toilet only).

The 2nd bedroom is a loft, up a flight of stairs and is quite large, looking out an entire wall of windows into the woods. There is a queen mattress with foam topper. This room has a nook for reading and a desk. The bathroom is large and includes a bathtub and shower, sink & toilet. There is a stack washer/dryer in the corner. Laundry soap is provided.

If you have more than 4 guests, we have a PB sleeper sofa in the living room. This has a new 5" queen foam mattress. There is a modest charge for extra laundry when you utilize the sleeper sofa with 4 guests or less ($10 per night). Prior to arrival, please let me know if you wish to use the sofa sleeper.

We also have a high chair and portable crib.

You will find 3 locked cabinets, where we keep cleaning products. We do this as a safety measure since we do welcome children.

Guest access

Guests enjoy a private porch, as well as a private outdoor seating area next to our winter babbling creek.

The woods surround you and make this very a private home. There is a small table and 2 chairs if you would like to eat outside.

Interaction with guests

We are generally available if you have a question, or need something.

Other things to note

As with almost all homes on Bainbridge Island, we have a private well with excellent drinking water. We also have a septic system. We ask that our guests be water-wise and septic conscientious.

We also ask that you recycle paper, glass, aluminum, and plastic. A recycling container is provided. Garbage and recycling day is Wednesday morning.

If this is your first trip to the Seattle area or Bainbridge Island, please take a little time to acquaint yourself with a map of the area. We are located in Puget Sound, which is a large bay, close to Seattle. The actual Pacific Ocean is several hours away by car.

Another thing to note about Washington State is that the beaches are predominantly private, in contrast to some beaches in other states which are public. There are fewer beaches for access in Washington. We have guidebooks and can assist you to find public access points if you want to go to the beach. There is beach access within walking distance from the house.
