Bainbridge Island Studio Tour

Current Exhibits at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art

Bainbridge Island Museum of Art in 2019There are so many wonderful reasons to visit Bainbridge Island. While things like the natural beauty and charm of this small town draw people in, great attractions like the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art keep them here.

Bainbridge Island has consistently been ranked as one of the top getaway destinations in the state of Washington. It’s easy to reach via the Washington State Ferry system from downtown Seattle but feels as though it’s miles away. Whether you’re here to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, want to get out and experience nature in the Pacific Northwest, want to spend some time shopping and dining out, or just want some romantic one-on-one time, you’ll see that Bainbridge Island is an ideal place for all of that and more.

Downtown Winslow has undergone dramatic changes in recent years, with a number of new restaurants, shops, wineries, and other venues opening up. The most notable addition to Winslow Way has been the construction of a new state-of-the-art Bainbridge Island Museum of Art facility.  Come visit us this winter, and enjoy the current exhibits before they change.  To get started, simply find and make your reservation at one of our many unique and luxurious lodging properties on Bainbridge Island. Get Ready for the Holidays: Shopping on Bainbridge Island

Holiday Shopping on Bainbridge IslandThe holidays are coming up, and we couldn’t be more excited.  It’s a great time to gather with loved ones, but also a time to hit the stores and go shopping for special gifts that will brighten the lives of those you love. Friends and family will gather around Thanksgiving tables around the country next week, and soon after, Bainbridge Island will officially kick off its holiday shopping with the annual tree lighting in downtown Winslow.  We thought we’d take the time now to talk about some of our favorite shopping on the island, which includes the upcoming Bainbridge Island Studio Tour. Bainbridge Island Summer Studio Tour Celebrates Local Artists

Bainbridge-Island-Summer-Studio-Tour-4Now in its 15th year, the Bainbridge Island Studio Tour opens its summer showcase the weekend of August 7-9, 2015. The Tour is a twice-annual, free, self-guided art show on Bainbridge Island, Washington, and invites guests to celebrate the beauty and craftsmanship of local, handmade art.

During the festive summer studio tour, local artists open their studios while other artists join them in garden settings with live music to create an inviting marketplace of fine art. Bainbridge Island and off-island visitors anticipate this enjoyable event, which has been held since 2001, and attendance is growing. This summer, five studios will present the work of 48 local artists, including ceramicist Dawn McNamara, jewelry maker Passiko True, nature photographer Jean-Claude Louis and painter Sylvia Carlton.

Regional artists jury in to the art shows, and sell their work at Bainbridge Island artists’ studios and historic community halls. When you visit the studios, you’ll see some works in progress, raw materials, tools, and perhaps some inspiration mixed in with a little sawdust!
