Tour Bainbridge

Visit A Bainbridge Distillery & Enjoy Other Tastings!

We just wrote a blog about visiting Bainbridge Brewing and sampling their delicious craft beers.  So what about the Bainbridge distillery, and all of the other great tastings this island has to offer?  There are plenty of delicious tastings to choose from, whether you’re into beer, fine spirits, or wine, and this summer seems the perfect opportunity to get your tastings on!  Bainbridge Island is open, and many of these locations have outdoor seating and plenty of room for social distancing.  Masks are required in Washington state, too, so don’t forget to bring yours along on your incredible tasting journey.

Between a craft brewery (with 2 great locations), 2 wonderful distilleries, and 7 local wineries, there’s more than enough to spread out to at least two days.  Combine that with the great restaurants, shops, and natural beauty on Bainbridge Island, and you have the recipe for a perfect getaway.  There are a number of great lodging choices on the island, too, from traditional hotels and Inns to charming Airbnb and VRBO rentals.  Whatever it is you’re looking for, we’re sure you can find it on Bainbridge Island.  Make this a summer to remember, and come visit us for a few days! Transportation: Getting To and Around Bainbridge Island

Modes of Transportation and Getting to Bainbridge IslandBainbridge Island is only 5 miles away from downtown Seattle as the crow flies, but getting here can require a little bit of advance planning.  Luckily, it’s one of the few destinations in Washington State that you can get to, and get around on, using only public transportation and your own two legs.  But, don’t worry; there are also plenty of other options for transportation if you don’t want to walk and/or bike everywhere you go! Bainbridge Island offers a variety of different modes of transportation that will get you around the island, whether or not you have your own car.

By far the easiest way to enjoy the charmed life on Bainbridge Island is to leave your car at home, and arrive via the Washington State Ferry system.  The Ferry departs from Coleman Dock in downtown Seattle on a regular schedule. Once you’re here, navigating around the island is easy. The Downtown Winslow core of Bainbridge Island is easily walkable from the ferry terminal, and the Bainbridge Downtown Association has produced a walkabout guide. The guide inludes the locations of Art Galleries, Museums, shops, restaurants, outdoor activity areas, and even real estate. Definitely take your time exploring our charming downtown; there are some really great shops and hidden treasures worth exploring! Continue reading
