Monday, August 18

Birding for Beginners Camp
1:00 – 4:00 pm @ Kids Discovery Museum (301 Ravine Lane NE)
Join friends of a feather for a bird watching adventure! Together with their new flock of bird enthusiasts, campers will observe the colorful flying fauna of the area. They will learn to identify birds by sight and sound, keep a birder’s journal, dissect owl pellets, and make binoculars. They will also learn about conservation through hands-on activities and outdoor exploration. Curriculum focus: life sciences, health and wellness, arts, fun! Ages: 5 – 7. Admission: Please inquire

Teen Radio Camp

Join the Bainbridge Community Broadcasting team for an exciting week of radio production. Learn voice performance skills, how to incorporate music into radio segments, and utilize the latest radio technology to create a podcast. At the end of the week your voice will be part of a BCB podcast! Space is limited. Admission: Free

Eye on Artist Lecture: Romson Bustillo

Join BIMA for an evening presentation with Romson Regarde Bustillo, artist of “Dugay Na” exhibition currently on view in the Beacon Gallery. He will discuss his work, process and inspiration. Reception with light food and beverage following lecture. Preregistration required. Admission: $6 adults; students free with pre-registration

Friday, August 22

The Dusty 45s at Bloedel Reserve
7:00 pm @ Bloedel Reserve (7571 NE Dolphin Drive)
Your summer night is about to get a whole lot hotter when The Dusty 45s perform an outdoor concert on the Reserve’s grounds. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and dance under the evening sky to their swingin’ Rockabilly sound. Admission: $26 members; $30 non-members

7:30 – 9:30 pm @ Bainbridge Performing Arts (200 Madison Avenue North)
Island Theatre presents its third annual Ten-Minute Play Festival Saturday and Sunday. Out of 57 play submissions from both experienced and emerging Kitsap County playwrights, 16 will be performed – 8 each evening – by Island Theatre directors and actors. Admission: Free but donations appreciated.

A Spanish-themed evening featuring an authentic paella dinner and the Latin music of the Malo Combo. Three Seatings: 5:30 PM, 6:30 PM, and 7:30 PM. Raised in Mallorca and the Canary Islands, Chef Yolanda has channeled her passion towards working in restaurants, and absorbing more knowledge, techniques and tricks of the trade along the way. She has lived in the Northwest for a couple of decades, and worked at the Four Swallows for eight years. “I love to cook, there’s nothing like the delicious aromas and flavors of Spain to transport you right back!” Admission: $45 for dinner
