Monday, February 17

Bainbridge Island BrewingTrivia Night at the Taproom
7:00 – 9:00 pm @ Bainbridge Island Brewing (9415 Coppertop Loop)
Monday is Trivia Night at the brewery, presented by Trivia Time Live’s DJ. From 7 to 9pm, teams compete for prizes and the pennant during four rounds of interesting questions.  Come and play by yourself or join a team.  Relax, have a few beers and snacks, and join in the weekly fun! Come early for seating. Admission: Free

The Red Badge of CourageTuesday, February 18

Waterfront Book Group Reads The Red Badge of Courage
1:00 – 2:00 pm @ Bainbridge Island Public Library (1270 Madison Avenue North)
In Stephen Crane’s The Red Badge of Courage, Henry Fleming, a private in the Union Army, runs away from the field of war. Afterwards, the shame he feels at this act of cowardice ignites his desire to receive an injury in combat a red badge of courage that will redeem him. Admission: Free

Wednesday, February 19

League of Women Voters’ Coffee Chat with Council Member Wayne Roth
2:00 – 4:00 pm @ Seabold Community Hall (14450 Komedal Road)
The League of Women Voters of Bainbridge Island is providing an opportunity to become better acquainted with Wayne Roth, one of the new City Council members. Come and chat with Mr. Roth over coffee and casually discuss any questions you might have concerning his work with the City Council. If possible, please let the League know if you are coming so they can determine how much coffee, tea and snacks to provide. Admission: Free

Royal Ballet Swan Lake at Bainbridge CinemasThursday, February 20

Bainbridge Island Genealogical Society

The Bainbridge Island Genealogical Society (BIGS) meets Friday in the Bainbridge Public Library Meeting Room for a presentation by a panel of BIGS members experienced in English research, to share how to get started on your own family tree research. Admission: $5 Suggested Donation

Saturday, February 22

Intentional Table LogoFlavors of Burma

Inveterate travelers and authors Robert Carmack and Morrison Polkinghorne are experts on pan-Asian cooking. In their new book, The Burma Cookbook, they explore this former British colony’s rich culinary history. In this class, the authors will take you on a culinary journey through Myanmar’s foods in simple stages while explaining processes in detail, step-by-step techniques and show you how to cook up some interesting and delicious recipes from their book. Learn about Burmese cookery over the past 100 years, from Colonial English influences, to imperial migratory influences from India and Malaysia. The food of Burma is quite different from Thai, Indian and Chinese cooking — so you are in for a real treat! Admission: $90

Taize Service at St. Barnabas
8:00 pm @ St. Barnabas Episcopal Church (1187 Wyatt Way Northwest)
The service of Taize is held on the 4th Sunday of the month at 8pm at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Taize is an ecumenical, contemplative service practiced worldwide. It is a participatory practice of meditation, short readings, and chant, led by musicians from around the area. Admission: Free
