BIMA’s largest fundraiser of the year features silent and live auctions, a hosted bar, hors d’oeuvres and a seated 3-course dinner in the Feferman Gallery with catering by Ann Pearl Catering. Bid on fine art, craft and experience packages! Admission: $300 per person

An afternoon triple-header with area authors, as beloved former Bainbridge resident Donald E. Mayer is joined by D.L Fowler of Gig Harbor and Michael J. Smith of Bainbridge. Mayer presents Riding Kid Writes Home: The Remarkable Adventures of a Teen-age Cowboy in the Years of the Great Depression. Fowler, author of Lincoln’s Diary: A Novel, presents his new fictional treatment of the 16th president. Smith will also join in to talk about his new book Thicket of Opportunity: How Smart Risk-Taking Supercharges Personal Success, which looks at what smart risk-taking is and how you can use it to better your life. Admission: Free

BIMA has a small but growing Permanent Art Collection with a main focus on contemporary works from the Puget Sound Region. The art collection includes various media such as painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, wood, artist’s books, fiber, and jewelry art. We collect works by artists at all stages of their careers. Admission: Free

Join BILT for a final recap of all things Bainbridge Island BioBlitz, which took place on Saturday, May 30th. Three Land Trust conserved properties, Gazzam Lake Preserve, Old Woods Conservation Easements, and the West Bainbridge Shoreline Preserve, were surveyed with the goal of documenting as many species as possible in one single day. Over 110 volunteers took part in the event. What did you uncover? Who was involved? What IS living in our backyards? Findings from the citizen science event will be presented and stories will be highlighted. Admission: Free

Travelogue: Cuba

Long off limits to travelers, the door to Cuba is opening for Americans. Join Matthew Brumley, founder of Earthbound Expeditions on Bainbridge Island, to learn about travel to this beautiful country. Co-sponsored by the Library and the Traveler. Admission: Free

Learn to make those mouth-watering old fashioned tarts that make you wish it was always berry season! This class will include classic French and free form tarts, as well as how to make custard and  glaze. Premium farm ingredients will include eggs, berries and leaf lard for the perfect crust. You’ll go home with goodies from the class and enjoy a farm fresh dinner in addition to dessert – tarts of course. Admission: $75 plus tax
