Grand Old Fourth of July Parade on Bainbridge IslandGrand Old Fourth of July Celebration

The island’s biggest party! Old-time family fun with a Mile Long Parade, pancake breakfast, 5K run, street fair, antique & classic car show, live music & entertainment, food, arts & crafts, kid zone with pony rides, bouncy houses & games, beer & wine garden, and fireworks over Eagle Harbor at dusk. Friends of the Bainbridge Island Public LibraryReading Buddies at the Library

Babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their families are invited to drop by and hear stories read by the Library’s Reading Buddy volunteers. This is an opportunity for young children to make a new friend and share books together. Stay for a few minutes or stay for an hour. Admission: Free

Open Mic Science at Treehouse Café

“Open Mic Science” invites the community to an evening at The Treehouse Café on Bainbridge Island to explore ideas in all aspects of science and technology in an informal, social setting. The Student Conservation Corps is hiring high school students for spring and summer work sessions to remove invasive species from Parks and Land Trust properties. The SCoCo crew is comprised of 24 high school students dedicated to removing invasive species from Park & Land Trust properties. They invite the public to join them at their work parties to learn more about the program and to join in on the stewardship effort. Admission: Free

Learn how simple and satisfying summer entertaining can be using seasonal ingredients. As you sample bites, you’ll also learn how to pair food and wine from the Island’s own Bainbridge Vineyards. Kerrie Sanson has been a chef and caterer on Bainbridge Island for two decades. She was an assistant technical instructor at Seattle Culinary Academy and has taught at Islandwood and Intentional Table. She also was formerly the baker at Restaurant Marche. She has been a participant at Quillisascut Farm School and has a strong background in sustainable food systems and stewardship in the kitchen. Admission: $75 plus tax
