Bainbridge Island BrewingTrivia Night at the Taproom
7:00 – 9:00 pm @ Bainbridge Island Brewing (9415 Coppertop Loop)
Monday is Trivia Night at the brewery, presented by Trivia Time Live’s DJ. From 7 to 9pm, teams compete for prizes and the pennant during four rounds of interesting questions.  Come and play by yourself or join a team.  Relax, have a few beers and snacks, and join in the weekly fun! Come early for seating. Admission: Free

Tuesday, June 10

SWERV presents Starting and Managing a Community Garden
10:30 am – 12:00 pm @ Filipino American Hall (7566 NE High School Road)
All women are invited to join Savvy Women Exchanging Relevant Views (SWERV). When the recession hit, Anita and Phil Rockefeller realized there would be an increase in the number of families needing to turn to Helpline, the food bank. They had an unused garden space where they could raise food to donate but they realized they could not do it alone. They decided to invite the community to raise food for themselves and the food bank. This presentation will be about how they created the garden and how it has worked out the past five years. Admission: $2

Presented by the Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau and the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Presents. Author Michael Schein leads a conversation about the causes of the war, cultural misunderstandings, and the consequences of fearing the stereotyped “other.” Mr. Schein is a poet, legal scholar, and author of the historical novel Bones Beneath Our Feet. Battle Point Astronomical AssociationLecture: “Exoplanets – Looking for Other Earths”

Guest lecturer, Professor Henny Lamars of the Astronomical Institute, University of Amsterdam and Utrecht, will discuss the search for exoplanets. Could there be life somewhere in the universe or are we the only ones? To find the answer, astronomers are looking for planets around other stars: Exoplanets. If the sky is clear, astronomers will be on hand with telescopes for public solar viewing prior and star-gazing afterward. Admission: Inquire

Friends of the Farms invites all to join us for a 90-minute guided walking tour at Suyematsu and Bentryn Family Farms on Sunday, June 15 at 2:00. Come walk past row crops, vineyards and berries.
