Beneath-the-Waves-Film-FestivalBeneath the Waves Film Festival
7:00 pm @ Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (550 Winslow Way East)
Join Salish Sea Expeditions for a Beneath the Waves film festival event at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. This unique film festival presentation is focused on marine science exploration and stewardship of the marine environment. The Festival aims to encourage, inspire, and educate scientists, advocates, and the general public to produce and promote open access, engaging marine-issue documentaries. Films will be presented by guest panelists, who will be available after the screening for questions. Children ages 4+ are encouraged to attend, and those under 14 must be accompanied by a parent. Admission: Free

An event celebrating Eagledale’s rich history and revealing its deepest, hidden secrets,
and a feast to be remembered prepared by Heyday’s renowned chef, Kerrie Sanson. Hear stories that will make you laugh, cry and marvel at the history of Eagledale on subjects like: Commercial Fishing, Creosote, Croatians, and rowing across Eagle Harbor to shop in Winslow!! Admission: $75

1:30 pm – 3:30 pm @ Bloedel Reserve (7571 NE Dolphin Drive)
Bloedel Reserve is honored to present traditional Japanese music on Koto by musician Takako Satoh on select Sunday afternoons in the Japanese Garden. The Koto is a traditional 13-string zither-like instrument played with three fingers and with movable bridge pieces. (weather permitting) Admission: $15 adults (included in general admission)

Stop by KiDiMu for messy experimentation and sensory exploration featuring owl babies. Featuring by the book Owl Babies, children can practice sensory and small motor skills, and use imagination as they create their masterpiece with paint and kitchen sponge “brushes.” Admission: Free with admission or membership

Kick off BIMA’s newest smARTfilms series featuring six weeks of Film Noir. Celebrity guest and “Czar of Noir”, Eddie Muller, will introduce little known facts about Roman Polanski’s 1974 Chinatown. Come early and clink glasses with Eddie during a special reception and four-course dinner. Doors to the cash bar and Auditorium open at 6:30pm. Dress Noir and make it a night to remember! Admission: $70 (Reception & Dinner); $11/person (Film);

Mushrooming with Andrew MacMillen
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm @ Bainbridge Island Public Library (1270 Madison Avenue North)
Kitsap Peninsula Mycology Society’s Andrew MacMillen will talk about mushrooming and mycology, how to study, collect and identify fungi, educating the local community in proper fungi identification. Proper identification is the key in promoting safe and healthy gathering and consumption of fungi. Admission: Free
